The Kelly Conference is a student-led conference. This call for proposal abstracts is directed towards graduate and other post-secondary students interested in evaluation.

About the Kelly Conference
The Edward F. Kelly Evaluation Conference is a regional, one-day graduate-student organized evaluation event whose goal is to provide graduate and other post-secondary students with a research interest in evaluation an opportunity to present their original research and network with professionals and faculty in the field of evaluation. This is a regional conference with participation from Universities in upstate New York as well as eastern and central Ontario. For more information, please visit our website:

The Kelly conference, in this year's session, consists of three main components:
Presentation Formats
Paper sessions: Presenters will have 20 minutes to present their papers, allowing for 10 minutes of questions from conference participants. Participants are expected to complete and submit a written version of their paper by Monday, October 6th, 2014 for publication in the conference proceedings.
Round table: Presenters will lead a 10 minute discussion concerning the evaluation topic of choice (topical round table), a recent or ‘classic’ book relevant to evaluation (book review), or present an evaluation case study, experience, or dilemma (vignette), followed by a 20 minutes discussion with roundtable participants. Those presenting papers are expected to submit written versions by Monday, October 6th, 2014 for publication in the conference proceedings.
Poster: The poster option gives presenters the opportunity to visually display ideas, concepts, results, etc. from their papers permitting informal discussion and interaction. Those presenting papers are expected to submit written versions by Monday, October 6th, 2014 for publication in the conference proceedings.
General Proposal Guidelines
All papers are to be authored and presented by students. Co-authored work is allowed. Presentations can be oriented toward:
Proposal Submission Procedure
Submission should be done online through the Conference’s webpage:

In the form, the following fields should be filled: Title of proposal, author(s)' name (s), E-mail address, telephone number, and indication of presentation format (paper session, roundtable, or poster session).
Proposals should be 250-500 words (without references) and should include: Significance of the study or evaluation work, objectives, perspectives or theoretical framework, methods and/or techniques, results, and conclusions.
Proposals should be submitted no later WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 24th, 2014. Proposals will be peer reviewed and authors will be notified of decisions no later than mid October 2014.

- A preconference social networking event, held in the evening of Thursday November 6th, 2014;
- A keynote address by Dr. Keiko Kuji-Shikatani, Education Officer at Ontario Ministry of Education Association;
- Concurrent presentations of students' research (presentations, poster presentations, and roundtable discussions).
